Bangkok Air is not a budget airline and will not weigh your hand luggage unless it is obviously too big / heavy. If you are sneaking a heavier bag on board then please think of others and make sure you can stow it under the seat in front of you and not in the overhead bin.
Basic Regulations: Royal First Class and Royal Silk Class passengers receive a free baggage allowance of two pieces. The weight of each piece shall not exceed 32 kgs (70 lbs) and linear measurement (length + width + height) shall not exceed 158 cms (62 inches).
If your baggage allowance shows as PC , this stands for “ piece ”, i.e. “1 piece of baggage ”. 2 PCs stands for “ 2 pieces of baggage ” If you need more information on the permitted weight allowance per piece for individual airlines, please click here. Please note that extra baggage charge vary by airline.
After sifting through dozens of airline baggage allowance policies, the common consensus is roughly 15 lbs. (7 kg). This is on the lower end because some airlines permit added weight, but it’s also on the safe end.
*All airlines have checked luggage fee structures for oversize and overweight baggage and these fees are charged in addition to the initial fee for checking the bag. For most airlines, bags over 50 pounds (23 Kgs) are subject to additional fees which start around $50.

For routes to and from the U.S. or Canada, Thai Airways charges $180 for an extra piece of luggage. For other international routes, extra baggage is charged by kilogram depending on the zone you’re travelling to and from. Fees are $12 – $70 per kg with the zone definitions included in the table above.
How much luggage can I carry-on a Thai Airways flight? All Thai Airways passengers are permitted one personal item in addition to one standard carry-on bag for all routes, regardless of fare. Strict size and weight limits do apply, however, so plan accordingly.
As per the rule, each passenger is allowed one cabin bag (measuring about 25x35x55cm depending on the aircraft) weighing up to 7kg , besides a personal item like purse or laptop bag . However, officials say that passengers have a tendency to carry multiple baggages.
Items over 32kg are not accepted at all. Airlines often operate the “Piece Concept” for flights to and from the USA and Canada. This generally allows passengers 2 pieces of checked baggage, each up to 23kg. Elsewhere in the world the same airlines will operate the “Weight Concept”, e.g., one bag of up to 20kg.
On aircraft, there are two types of baggage , which are treated differently: checked baggage and hand/carry-on luggage . For both types , transportation companies have rules on the weight and size. For checked baggage , stored in the aircraft hold, usually the weight is the limiting factor.
The rule of thumb is that your personal item should fit under the seat in front of you. The personal item allowance is not an excuse to bring a second carry on bag . I’ve seen people do this and take up two spots in the overhead bin.
It is the maximum which can be carried free of charge, and it varies according to the class, origin and destination. If your ticket indicates ” Baggage Allowance : 0PC” (zero pieces) it means that your fare does not include free baggage transport in the hold.
Weight Concept The weight of each bag must not exceed 23 Kgs or 50 pounds.
