As for Hoi An, it’s definitely worth your visit . Great beach (Cua Dai) and you’re gonna have fun exploring this ancient town and do your shopping (yeah, it sure is cheap). You wouldn’t want to miss these cities, so 1 1/2 days in Hue and 2 days in Hoi An may be a good choice. Enjoy your trip!
When visitors choose picturesque Hoi An over vibrant Da Nang , they say it is because they find Hoi An to be a little more relaxing. Hoi An is very walkable whereas in Da Nang the areas of interest are more widespread, there’s a distinct lack of a town centre and you are required to go longer distances.
The dry season is from February until July. These months provide plenty of sunshine, with warm temperatures. Some feel the best time to visit Hoi An is between February and April, when rainfall is low and temperatures are comfortable. Others think it is best to wait a little longer, until May and June.
Hoi An is famous across Vietnam for its textile industry and one of the reasons many people come here is to get clothes tailor made for them. To that end, you will find amazing tailors all over town and you can choose from a plethora of silks, others textiles and patterns to make your own personalized creations.
For anyone considering a visit to Vietnam, put Hoi An at the top of your list! I recommend a minimum of three full days to explore all that Hoi An has to offer. This gives you enough time to see Hoi An and its beaches, spend an afternoon in Da Nang, and maybe take a day trip to My Son (see below).
Hoi An is a small community so scams are nowhere near as rife as you may find in the larger cities. But you still need to be cautious, especially late at night and even more so if you have been drinking.
As delightful and worthwhile as it is, Hoi An is still quite cheap, even by Vietnamese standards.

As with most beaches in Da Nang , you can enjoy a day of windsurfing, swimming , and yachting on Thanh Binh Beach .
For a more comfortable backpacker experience in Vietnam , it’s best to budget around $50 per day. This way, you’ll have more money to spend on things like food, drinks, activities and hotel rooms. For a comfortable mid-range experience in Vietnam , it’s best to budget $60 to $100 per day for your entire costs.
The best areas to be are between Hoi An town and the beach – either off Cua Dai Rd (connects to Cua Dai Beach) or Hai Ba Trung St (connects to An Bang Beach). The weather should be a big part of any decision about where to stay in Hoi An.
Hoi An does not flood every year, but almost every year. We are still in Hoi An in 2018 and it will be interesting to see what flood season brings this year.

So you can enjoy the culture and shops of the Old Town, the calm beauty of the countryside, and relaxing white sand beaches packed with great bars and restaurants. Hoi An’s beaches are technically one line of coast, split up into some distinct areas.
In Vietnam , avoid tap water as much as possible and only drink bottled water . Generally, even locals will avoid tap water and will drink boiled or filtered water at home. Bottled water is almost always available for sale at any local restaurants, hotels and convenience stores.
