Taken as a whole, Phuket is also the most expensive part of Thailand for visitors. The high season is from December through March, and there are so many resorts that competition keeps prices reasonable, but the rest of the year Phuket has the cheapest 5-star resorts in the world.
Things Not to Do in Phuket Don’t disrespect the Royal Family. Don’t wear your shoes in a temple. Don’t visit a temple with short clothes. Don’t take Buddha images out of the country. Do not touch a monk. Don’t point your feet at someone. Walk around town without a shirt (and ride a bike) Don’t take that selfie with protected wildlife.
What to Wear : Everyday Outfits DO : Short skirts and shorts are ok to wear . DON’T : Although short skirts and shorts are totally acceptable to wear , you shouldn’t be able to see your butt cheeks! DON’T : Wearing a spaghetti strap shirt and/or going barefoot are not appropriate choices.

In my experience Bali is cheaper than Phuket . But, they are two very different places. Bali is much larger than Phuket and the culture is completely different. The beaches on Phuket (and generally in Thailand) are far better than those on Bali .
